Bio: Denise Richards' career started at age 15, when Richards and her family (Mom Joni and Dad Irv) moved from the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove to Oceanside, California. She graduated from El Camino High School 1989. She did some modelling as a teenager and briefly moved to New York where she lived in a model apartment with six other girls. After a while she became a make-up girl for Bonné Bell. During this time she appeared in a lot of swim suit magazine articles. But at 5ft 6in (167 cm) she was never going to get much further in the modelling business so she moved to Los Angeles and started taking acting classes.
Amongst numerous "Girl #2"-type parts, Richards was cast as a beauty contestant in such shows as Life Goes On, and, in 1996, Melrose Place. A 1993 appearance on Seinfeld was quickly followed by a lead role in 1994's Tammy and the T-Rex, in which Richards explored the challenges of an interspecies relationship when her murdered boyfriend's brain is implanted into the body of a tyrannosaurus rex. She eventually went on to star as Carmen Ibanez in 1997's Starship Troopers. Her next project was Wild Things: In this film, Richards bared all in the now infamous ménage à trois scene. Understandably concerned about how she would look, Richards told director John McNaughton, "Make sure everything looks good. I'm showing my ass — I want you to light me so I look amazing." Even more worrisome than her appearance, though, was the fact that her parents would be two of her more observant fans. "I don't want my dad to see my breasts," she admitted in a 1998 interview. "I'm just hoping he'll close his eyes."
In 1999, Richards starred in Gorgeous, despite an inspired cat fight between an underwear-clad Richards and co-star Kirsten Dunst, the film did not last long in theaters. Currently, Denise can be seen in the latest James Bond thriller The World Is Not Enough, which some predict will be the highest-grossing 007 film of all time. In this latest Bond adventure, Richards plays Dr. Christmas Jones, a nuclear physicist the likes of which could make it rather difficult to concentrate in the lab!
Denise is now working on The Third Wheel with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. Also, keep your mouse online as Ms. Richards is getting ready to release her own official website in the new year!
